Through to Dollywood! See Dolly Parton & Pentatonix Team Up for Fantastic ‘Jolene’ Remake
If there is anything that should break the Internet this weekend, it’s the wonderful new cross-generational, cross-genre, a cappella version of Dolly Parton’s “Jolene,” starring The Sing-Off/YouTube sensations Pentatonix and Dolly herself.

The charming video went up Friday morning on Pentatonix’s YouTube’s channel (at last count, the 44th most popular channel on YouTube overall, with 11 million subscribers) — and by Friday afternoon, the smooth, groovy performance had already racked up more than 418,000 views. “Jolene” obviously still has a ways to go to match the numbers for Pentatonix’s Grammy-winning Daft Punk medley — which has 208 million YouTube plays — but it’s off to a pretty impressive start, thanks in no small part to Dolly’s star power.
“It was absolutely magical singing with such a talented group!” Parton posted on her Facebook page. Judging by the starry-eyed expressions on Pentatonix’s faces as they back up the country icon here, the feeling is very mutual.
Check out Yahoo’s exclusive sit-down interviews with both Dolly Parton and Pentatonix below. Parton’s Pure & Simple, her 43rd studio album, came out last month; Pentatonix’s self-titled album, their first collection of original songs, was released last October, when it became the first album by an a cappella group to go the #1 on the Billboard chart.
