Thunder Ridge cancels Tuesday's 'Concert for Conservation' due to inclement weather

Thunder Ridge Nature Arena has canceled its grand reopening "Concert for Conservation" ahead of severe weather threats Tuesday evening that included forecasted high winds and large hail.

In a statement, the venue noted that ticketholders will be eligible for a refund at the original point of purchase.

The event was meant to kickstart the season and be the first major musical event at the arena since fall 2022, following an array of infrastructure improvements. The concert was planned to feature Chris Janson, John Anderson, The Ozark Mountain Daredevils, Clay Self and The Petersens, according to previous News-Leader reporting.

All the proceeds of the concert were to benefit conservation efforts, particularly Bass Pro's Conservation Foundation, a nonprofit that aims to conserve wildlife and habitat, advocate for sportspeople and the outdoors, and connect new audiences to the outdoors.

"We deeply appreciate the extraordinary work of the many talented craftsmen and women who spent countless hours in preparation for tonight’s special preview event. We look forward to honoring them at a later date and time," the Thunder Ridge statement read.

Weather permitting, the venue's grand opening will be rung in with Morgan Wallen's concert on Saturday.
