Tia Mowry reflects on her marriage to Cory Hardrict in a clip from her new reality series Tia Mowry: My Next Act.

Speaking with fellow actress Essence Atkins and friends, the 46-year-old explains her lack of dating experience, as well as pretending her former marriage was perfect. She later detailed during a solo confessional the depth of her and Hardrict’s past romantic connection.

“I got tired of not being authentic,” relayed Mowry in the clip. “I would go home and feel alone.”

“I’ve never dated,” continued the Sister Sister star. “Cory was my first everything.”

She continued to detail, “I wasn’t even allowed to date until I was 18 years old. I met Cory when I turned 20 and I lost my virginity at 25. There, I said it! And then we got married! Boom!”

The couple announced their divorce in October 2022 after 14 years of marriage. It was finalized in April 2023 following six months of separation. Both “entered into a written agreement regarding their property and their marriage or domestic partnership rights,” including legal and physical joint custody of their two children, son Cree, now 13, and daughter Cairo, 6.

“We will maintain a friendship as we co-parent our beautiful children. I am grateful for all the happy times we had together and want to thank my friends, family, and fans for your love and support as we start this new chapter moving forward in our lives,” shared Mowry when announcing the split.

Tia Mowry: My Next Act airs on We TV, on Fridays at 9:30 p.m. ET/PT and streams on ALLBLK. It is described as a series that “pulls back the curtain on her post-divorce transformation, offering unfiltered access to her personal and professional life as she embraces singlehood, motherhood, and a thriving career.”

“This show is raw, authentic, and emotional,” explained the actress in a statement. “I felt there wasn’t a lot of representation when it came to transitions in life and I did this show to inspire and encourage. I didn’t want people to feel alone, as I did, through my journey.”
