Tickets for 'Dave Chappelle's Summer Camp' shows in Ohio on sale tomorrow. How to get them

Dave Chappelle announced August dates for the "Dave Chappelle's Summer Camp" comedy show, where he will return to his hometown of Yellow Springs, Ohio. The comedian is set to perform two shows, both held at the Wirrig Pavilion, on August 23 and August 24.

Tickets for the shows will go on sale on Ticketmaster starting Wednesday, August 14, at 12 p.m. ET. The upcoming shows are a follow-up to the previously billed "Dave Chappelle and Friends," held at the same venue in July.

Event organizers note that the shows are a "a phone-free experience," meaning that the use of cellphones will not be allowed. Instead, phones will be placed inside Yondr pouches to prevent guests from accessing their phones until the end of the show.

The comedian has deep ties to the Buckeye State, where Chappelle calls Yellow Springs home. He spent part of his childhood in Yellow Springs, and he is said to own property in the area.

He still shows love to Ohio in his shows, praising the state and warmly acknowledging Cleveland Browns legend Jim Brown in a 2022 performance.

Apart from his widely celebrated comedy chops, Chappelle was the recipient of the prestigious Mark Twain Prize for American Humor in 2019. Between his successful sketch comedy television series “Chappelle’s Show,” comedy specials, and guest appearances on “Saturday Night Live," he has received over 30 award nominations for his TV and film projects.
