Tiffany Haddish has vowed to "get some help" in the wake of her latest DUI arrest.

On Monday, the actress and comedian, 43, told Entertainment Tonight "this will never happen again," referring to her arrest on Friday on suspicion of DUI after allegedly falling asleep behind the wheel of her car.

"I'm going to get some help so I can learn balance and boundaries," she told the outlet, explaining that her Tesla had self-parked when she fell asleep but was blocking part of the street when Beverly Hills Police Department (BHPD) officers arrived and arrested her.

She also noted the BHPD's professionalism and complimented how they handled the incident.

The Afterparty star first addressed her DUI arrest on Friday night while performing a stand-up set at a previously scheduled gig at the Laugh Factory in Long Beach, California. According to an audio recording of the set, which was captured by an audience member and obtained by TMZ, Haddish was asked what "happened last night."

Per the recording, she replied, “You tell me,” before joking, "I had prayed to God to send me a man with a job, career, preferably in a uniform, and I answered my prayers."

On Friday, BHPD told PEOPLE they received a call around 5:45 a.m. local time about a woman who was in the driver's seat of a running vehicle stopped in the middle of Beverly Drive. She was arrested and released later that day.

Haddish had performed the night before at the Laugh Factory in West Hollywood as part of the club's annual free Thanksgiving feast community event. She is now facing a DUI charge, according to BHPD.

The Girls Trip star was previously arrested for another DUI-related incident in Georgia in January 2022. At the time, she was arrested by Peachtree City police officers for a suspected DUI and improper stopping on a roadway.

According to authorities, officers received a 911 call around 2:30 a.m. local time about a driver who had allegedly fallen asleep at the wheel on Highway 74. While en route, the officers spotted a vehicle that matched the description from the 911 call and did a traffic stop.

"Subsequent investigation led to Ms. Tiffany Haddish being arrested for Driving Under the Influence," police told PEOPLE at the time. "She was transported to the Fayette County Jail without incident."

A week after the 2022 incident, while appearing on The Tonight Show, Haddish cracked a joke similar to the one she made in her ET interview. "I can say this, Jimmy... I've been praying to God to send me a new man. A good man. And God went ahead and sent me four... in uniform," she told host Jimmy Fallon.

"And now I got a really great lawyer, and we're going to work it out," she added to Fallon of her case. "I've got to get my asking of things to God a little better!"

In April of that year, Haddish spoke about her Georgia DUI arrest while on The Ellen DeGeneres Show. "Yes, I did get charged with a DUI, which stands for Dumb Unfortunate Incidents," she said, asking the audience if they wanted to see her mugshot.

When her picture appeared on screen, she joked, "Still cute… looking good. I'm going to turn that into an NFT."
