This "just give me my money" TikTok trend is completely absurd, but we're going to try to explain it to the best of our ability.

If you're here, you're probably wondering: what is it exactly? Well, here's what we know.

People gather their friends, family members, colleagues — you name it — to make a video in which they stand in a circle and take turns saying, "Just give me my money." The gist is that each person gets a turn to say the catchphrase in their own special way, and afterward, the whole group claps for them.

Sounds simple, right? But, of course, there's a catch. One person in the bunch has no idea that when it's their turn, the rest of the group will not clap for them. Awkwardness ensues until that individual realizes the whole thing is a prank.

The trend is one of the latest viral waves on TikTok, and it's infiltrating loads of sports circles and even found its way to the U.S. women's national soccer team at the Olympics.

But things have gotten so out of hand that tiny humans and dogs are now involved. YES. THE TINY HUMANS AND DOGS HAVE BEEN PRANKED.

The worst part about this is no one knows where this started.

No, seriously. We don't know how this all began, and we don't know what to do with that information or when it will all stop. Sending thoughts and condolences to pranked souls all over the world.
