Tim Kaine Watches as Stephen Colbert Easily Fools New Yorkers With Kaine Impersonator
Vice presidential candidate Sen. Tim Kaine visited the Late Show on Thursday, and he watched as Stephen Colbert walked the streets of New York with a man pretending to be Kaine. The impostor talked to voters, posed for pictures, and even played harmonica. At one point, a man handed fake Kaine a baby, who immediately began to cry. Most people believed the impostor was the real Kaine.
“More or less, I guess,” one passerby said when asked if she thought the impostor looked like Kaine. “I was expecting a white guy, and I’m not disappointed.”
When he met a young woman excited to meet Hillary Clinton’s running mate, fake Tim Kaine gave her way too long of a hug, then told both the woman and her mother that he found them attractive, causing the real Kaine to laugh.
One woman, however, wasn’t fooled by the impersonator. The woman brought up Kaine’s daughter, who is a college student, and when Colbert asked him to give his daughter’s name, fake Kaine was unable to answer correctly.
Rather than help out in order to continue the ruse, Colbert just laughed and said, “Nope.”
