Tim McGraw says he will cut back on workouts after scary collapse
When Tim McGraw collapsed at his Dublin concert over the weekend, his wife, Faith Hill, blamed the incident on dehydration. However, the country music star — who’s a well-known gym rat — noted on Monday night that his extreme exercise habits might have contributed to his fall.
In a video clip posted by the Blast, McGraw agreed that the collapse was due to dehydration, as well as “lots of flying” — but then adds, “Gotta cut short my workouts.”
McGraw’s brutal workout regime has been documented often by the press since the 50-year-old singer dedicated himself to an alcohol-free, fitness-oriented life a decade ago. He likes to work out twice a day, preferring such activities as CrossFit, and takes a full load of exercise equipment on the road when he tours. He also watches his diet carefully, treating himself only on specific “cheat days.”
He credits the lifestyle with fueling his ability to keep rocking out onstage: “I don’t want to not be able to go up there and do a two-hour high-energy show,” he told the New York Times in 2015.
Many fans, however, have expressed concern over the years that the singer has been looking too thin, and perhaps needs to dial his fitness habits down a bit. Upon collapsing in Dublin, Twitter buzzed with comments suggesting McGraw might want to ease up a bit.
Love Tim McGraw, but he probably needs to eat something more than salad and obviously stay hydrated. Get well soon.

McGraw and Hill appeared to be in good spirits Monday following the frightening episode. McGraw will have a bit of a break to rest, as he isn’t scheduled to perform in concert again until May 31, during the “Soul2Soul” tour in Richmond, Va.
