Many fans showed their support when Tim McGraw made a bold political statement on social media in a birthday tribute to his wife, Faith Hill. However, not everybody agreed with the country singer's words—and the backlash was intense.

Recently, McGraw broke his silence following the controversy, showing he's not about to let the critics stop him from doing what he does best.

On Wednesday, Sept. 25, the "Live Like You Were Dying" singer took to Instagram to share a series of concert photos and thank his followers for supporting him on his recent tour.

In the comments, fans who'd seen McGraw live in concert raved about the experience.

"First time seeing you, had a blast!" wrote one person.

"Thank you!! Your shows never cease to amaze! Fact! ??????" gushed another Instagram user.

"My mom, my 2 daughters and I had the best time! You are truly amazing and put on a phenomenal show! We love you @thetimmcgraw!" agreed someone else.

Last week, McGraw was met with mixed reactions when he included a political sentiment in a post wishing Hill a happy 57th birthday.

"Our girls could not have a better role model in their lives as how to be an incredibly strong woman. And how to believe in themselves and be in charge of their lives (every aspect of their lives)! Let's honor the women in our lives with respect and make sure that we fight for their rights right alongside them!" he wrote in his caption of a photo of Hill from the Yellowstone spinoff 1883.

"I shall be streaming Tim McGraw classics all day! I love a man who isn’t intimidated by strong women. I love a man who supports his wife and daughters (and sisters and aunts etc)," one fan commented enthusiastically.

Of course, not everybody agreed with his political stance.

"Wow! Used to be a Tim McGraw fan," someone else complained, as another Instagram user declared, "I’d never listen to your music again after seeing you bleed blue."
