Tim McGraw doubled down on his recent political statement on social media concerning the contentious Presidential race between Vice President Kamala Harris and former President Donald Trump.

The singer, who is part of country music’s biggest supercouple with wife Faith Hill, went on Instagram on Tuesday's Election Day to make his political feelings known.

That followed McGraw’s seemingly expressing support for one candidate over another on Saturday, Sept. 21, in a birthday tribute to Hill.

How long have Tim McGraw and Faith Hill been together?

McGraw and Hill first met 30 years ago, in 1994, and they’ve been together ever since. The country stars married in October 1996 and have three daughters.

How did McGraw reveal his political views while honoring his wife?

"Happy birthday to this remarkable woman! My beautiful, strong, crazy, bad--s wife!!!!" McGraw wrote on Instagram in September to Hill, who turned 57.

"I love my girl with everything that I am and could ever hope to be! She is our beacon, our rock, our strength. The girls and I are so very blessed!"

But McGraw went further, seeming to touch on abortion rights: "Our girls could not have a better role model in their lives as how to be an incredibly strong woman. And how to believe in themselves and be in charge of their lives (every aspect of their lives)! Let's honor the women in our lives with respect and make sure that we fight for their rights right alongside them!"

Most fans believed McGraw was firmly in Kamala Harris’ camp!

What else made McGraw’s followers think he’s a Kamala voter?

Several weeks after McGraw’s message to his wife, on Oct. 11, he shared the video for his new song "People Like Us" on Instagram. His message alongside it seemed to respond to the controversy.

He wrote, “Today, I’m releasing a new song called ‘People Like Us.’ It’s a celebration of our shared journey through life. We all have unique paths, but at our core, we’re connected by the same hopes, dreams, and challenges that make us human. For me, this song is about seeing ourselves in others - recognizing our common experiences of joy, pain, triumph, and struggle. My hope is that when you listen, you’ll feel that connection and be reminded of the beauty in our shared humanity. Music has a way of touching our hearts and bringing us together. Let’s keep lifting each other up and moving forward as one human family.”

How did Tim McGraw’s daughter Gracie insert herself into the political debate?

In an Instagram Story posted on Thursday, Oct. 24, the couple’s daughter Gracie McGraw, 27, flat out wrote, "PLEASE VOTE BLUE IN NOVEMBER FOR KAMALA HARRIS. F—k Donald Trump."

That bugged some fans. However, Gracie also said that her beliefs are completely separate from those of her famous parents.

"I am my own human. I am my own woman. I talk about things that matter to me," she declared, adding, "nothing I do has anything to do with my parents unless it is states as such."

How did Tim McGraw continue the family political controversy?

On Tuesday, Nov. 5, McGraw shared a photo of a pile of buttons printed with American flags and one word, "vote." The picture was posted without a caption, and McGraw had apparently turned off the comments.

Have fans weighed in on McGraw’s political activism?

Yes. As The Spun reported, many were unhappy on social media after his Hill birthday post. "Oh boy, this sounds like a vote for Kamala...you've got to be kidding me. Thought you were grassroots type people, consider me fooled," one fan wrote.

"Do some research tim. No rights are being taken away. My goodness use your brain," another person said.

The Daily Mail reported another social media person complained, “Wow! Used to be a Tim McGraw fan” while an Instagram user wrote, "I’d never listen to your music again after seeing you bleed blue.'

The comments proved that McGraw might lean more left than a lot of his fans!

But others supported McGraw and his views.

“Love a man that supports his wife and daughters and their rights,” one user commented.

“I thank you MR. McGraw for standing and respecting the rights of every women in this country . Hats off to you,” another person gushed.

Is Tim McGraw Democrat or Republican?

He’s reportedly Democrat. In fact, McGraw performed at President Joe Biden’s inauguration in 2021. Also, years earlier, in 2006, the country hunk said if he ever ran for office, it would be as a Democrat.

What has Tim McGraw said about politics in the past?

McGraw has expressed anti-MAGA sentiment. He told Time Magazine in 2023, “(January 6) was one of the saddest days in our country’s history, I believe. It was tough to watch. And I couldn’t believe that it had actually happened. And hopefully it will never happen again.”

The Blind Side star also noted, “I’m not going to give (Trump) any air. From my perspective and my world, that’s just so far out there that I can’t even put words into it. I want what’s best for our country. I want what’s best for the majority of people in our country. I think that everybody deserves the right to live their life in the best way that they possibly can and to soar in the best way. I think that we can certainly get back to some civility, on both sides.”

The famous “girl dad” also has stressed how much he cares about women’s issues, which seems more aligned with Harris.

“I’m a dad of three daughters and have a wife,” he told Time. “I want to see a world where my daughters have control of every decision. Whether it be medically, personally, or the way they want to live their lives. I support a woman’s right to choose. That’s between a family, their doctor, their God, and I don’t think anybody else has any business in being a part of that.”
