Titans: Minka Kelly, Alan Ritchson cast as Dove and Hawk in DC live-action series
DC is calling on a superhero veteran for its new live-action series Titans.
Alan Ritchson, who previously appeared on the CW’s Smallville as Aquaman, has been cast alongside Friday Night Lights alum Minka Kelly, EW has confirmed. They’ll play the superhero twosome Hawk and Dove in recurring roles, with the option to become regulars in a possible second season.
A study in opposites, Hawk (a.k.a. Hank Hall) and Dove (a.k.a. Dawn Granger) are a vigilante duo and a romantic couple. He’s an aggressive bruiser while she’s lithe, defensive, and strategic.
Titans follows a group of young soon-to-be superheroes recruited from every corner of the DC Universe. Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales star Brenton Thwaites was previously cast as the group’s leader, Dick Grayson, a.k.a. Robin.
The series from Akiva Goldsman (A Beautiful Mind), Greg Berlanti (Arrow), Geoff Johns, and Sarah Schecter will be part of launching Warner Bros. and DC Entertainment’s branded direct-to-consumer digital service in 2018.
Deadline Hollywood first reported the news.
