T.J. Miller’s Most Ridiculous Moments Hosting the Critics’ Choice Awards

T.J. Miller was back for another helping of hosting at the 22nd Annual Critics’ Choice Awards Sunday night. For the second year in a row, the comedian hosted the event, and he really outdid himself.

T.J. started the show by coming out shirtless, with a face painted on his torso, arms coming out of the sides of his pants, and a massive top hat covering his head and shoulders. He was accompanied by a few other gentlemen who were all dressed the same as T.J., and they were all whistling while pushing out their bellies to make it look as if the painted faces were whistling. The other guys left the stage, and T.J. ripped his hat in two, yelling, “Yeah!”

So after an entrance like that, it was clear that the rest of the show was going to be a little goofy. T.J. joked about poisoning his fellow nominees in the Best Supporting Actor in a Comedy Series category; he made an acceptance speech for all the losers after he lost to Louie Anderson; and he came out dressed as Natalie Portman’s Jackie Kennedy.

T.J. also shot himself out of a cannon, but made it seem like only his head came out after the cannon was fired. The camera then cut to a shot of T.J.’s “dismembered” head on the ground as he screamed for help from Tom Hanks.

If T.J. is brought back to host next year’s show, it will be interesting to see how he tops this performance.
