'Toby Keith: American Icon' tribute show premieres this week: How to watch, stream
A star-studded lineup of country music stars pays tribute to future Country Music Hall of Fame inductee Toby Keith on the NBC special "Toby Keith: American Icon."
Here's what to know:
When is the Toby Keith tribute show?
The two-hour concert special will air at 8 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 28 on NBC and stream the next day on Peacock.
Recorded July 29 in front of a sold-out audience at Nashville's Bridgestone Arena, "Toby Keith: American Icon" salutes the Norman-based superstar who died Feb. 5 at age 62 after a multiyear battle with stomach cancer.
A portion of the concert's ticket sales are benefiting the Oklahoma City-based Toby Keith Foundation’s OK Kids Korral, a cost-free home-away-from-home in OKC for families of Oklahoma children dealing with critical illnesses, as well as Nashville's Monroe Carell Jr. Children's Hospital at Vanderbilt, one of the nation’s leading children’s hospitals.

Toby Keith tribute show features Carrie Underwood, Luke Bryan and more
Fellow Oklahoma superstar Carrie Underwood and country hitmakers Luke Bryan, Eric Church, Ashley McBryde, Jelly Roll, Darius Rucker, Lainey Wilson and more came together to perform hits by the late Sooner State superstar and to celebrate his life and legacy.
Keith's widow, Tricia Covel, and their three children attended the show, and his younger daughter, fellow Norman singer-songwriter Krystal Keith, performed his emotional ode "Don't Let the Old Man In."
Who is Toby Keith?
A 2015 Songwriters Hall of Fame inductee, Keith amassed 42 Top 10 hits and 33 No. 1 singles, sold 44 million albums and earned more than 10 billion streams, primarily on the strength of his own songwriting and producing, and his music has continued to sell and stream strongly since his death earlier this year.
The superstar, who was born in Clinton and grew up in Moore, was elected to the Country Music Hall of Fame just before his death in February and will be posthumously inducted this autumn.
