Tom Hanks shares coronavirus health update from isolation: 'No fever but the blahs'
COVID-19 isn't dampening Tom Hanks's spirit. One week after he and wife, Rita Wilson, tested positive for the coronavirus, the beloved actor shared a humorous update from isolation.
"Good News: One week after testing positive, in self-isolation, the symptoms are much the same. No fever but the blahs," Hanks wrote on social media Tuesday. "Folding the laundry and doing the dishes leads to a nap on the couch."
The bad news? Wilson is kicking his butt in cards as she's "won 6 straight hands of Gin Rummy and leads by 201 points."
Hanks also poked fun at the scandal he caused Sunday when he shared a photo of his Vegemite toast.
"I have learned not to spread my Vegemite so thick," he said of the Australian food spread.
The health update accompanied a photo of Hanks's typewriter — a Smith Corona, typewriter. The Oscar winner poked fun at the irony, calling it "one I used to love."
"We are all in this together," he concluded. "Flatten the curve."
Hanks and Wilson announced last week they tested positive for the coronavirus while in Australia. They spent five days in quarantine in a Queensland hospital and are now resting at a rented home. A rep for the actor confirmed the pair remain in isolation. He's set to shoot Baz Luhrmann’s untitled Elvis Presley biopic on the Gold Coast, which is in pre-production.
Idris Elba, who has also tested positive for the coronavirus, said Tuesday he was motivated by Hanks to come forward and share his journey.
