Tom Holland teases a new Marvel ride at Disneyland: 'It's the most I've ever felt like Spider-Man'
Watch: First look - Tom Holland as Peter Parker
Although Disneyland is still closed to the public — apart from those seeking COVID-19 vaccinations — that hasn’t stopped the theme park’s Imagineers from imagining a future where the Happiest Place on Earth is back open for business. A new Disney Parks video teases one of the coming attractions that the young and young at heart are sure to love... 3000. Along with Galaxy’s Edge, Disneyland will soon be home to Avengers Campus, a new realm devoted entirely to the Marvel Cinematic Universe. And at the heart of that campus is the Worldwide Engineering Brigade or WEB — a new initiative created by your friendly neighborhood Spider-Man, Peter Parker. (Watch the teaser trailer above.)
The WEB workshop will be home to Web Slingers: A Spider-Man Adventure, an interactive experience that lets visitors sling webs alongside the web-slinger played by Tom Holland, who reprises his role for the ride. The actor was one of the first people to experience Spider-Man’s virtual adventure and he gave it the highest compliment possible. “It’s the most I’ve ever felt like Spider-Man,” Holland remarks in the just-released teaser trailer. “Everyone is going to get to share that experience, which is so awesome. I want to go and ride it again with all of the fans.”
As Holland explains, Web Slingers starts with Peter explaining how he’s invented a new piece of cutting-edge Spidey tech: a web-slinger vehicle. “He’s giving the tour, and something goes wrong and he needs everybody to help him out to save the day,” the actor says, who describes the Imagineers’s work on the ride — and all of Avengers Campus — as “spectacular.” Besides the WEB workshop, the area will also feature Avengers Headquarters, the Collector’s Fortress (where you can ride the free-falling attraction, Guardians of the Galaxy – Mission: Breakout!) and the Pym Test Kitchen. All that, and a shwarma joint, too.
