HOT PICK
Saturday
Comedy: In October, comedian Tony Hinchcliffe made headlines for jokes he made during President-elect Donald Trump's campaign rally at Madison Square Garden aimed at Jewish, Black and Latino Americans. He also referred to Puerto Rico as "a floating island of garbage." Hinchcliffe, who prides himself on never apologizing for his jokes, told the crowd exercising the First Amendment is important, even if it offends people.
The Youngstown, Ohio native has written for "Comedy Central Roast" and has close ties with conservative comedian Joe Rogan (he's a frequent guest on "The Joe Rogan Experience"). In 2013, he launched his own podcast, "Kill Tony," which has almost 2 million subscribers on YouTube.
Hinchcliffe will perform on Saturday at Fantasy Springs Resort Casino.
If you go: 8 p.m. Saturday, Fantasy Springs Resort Casino, 84-245 Indio Springs Parkway, Indio. Tickets $62 to $73. fantasyspringsresort.com

Rap: Some of the best rap music was recorded during the ‘90s, and the “How the West Was Won” tour features some of those artists from the West Coast such as Bone Thugs-N-Harmony and Too $hort. The Grammy Award-winning group Bone Thugs-N-Harmony is also celebrating its 30th anniversary of its debut single “Thuggish Ruggish Bone.”
In the late 1980s, Too $hort emerged as one of the early gangsta rap figures with provocative themes of street life, drug use and prostitution and shaped the West Coast rap sound. He later collaborated with both 2Pac and Notorious B.I.G.
