The Top 12 revealed on 'The Voice,' and there were some shocking omissions
It was a stressful night for everyone on The Voice as we said goodbye to 12 talented artists, something that the coaches didn’t like doing. Before saving one of her team members, Kelly Clarkson said, “I hate this!” While Alicia Keys joked, “This is absolutely atrocious, I wanted to quit today. They wouldn’t let me.” But Adam Levine seemed to hate it the most. “I don’t like this new format,” he declared. “It’s really stupid, and I hope we never have to do this again in this particular fashion, because none of this deserves to happen to any of the four of you guys.” The last statement was made to his remaining team members.
Whether they liked it or not, the show must go on. After another jam-packed night of great performances, the coaches had some tough decisions to make, starting with Blake Shelton. After America saved Prior Baird, it was up to Blake to save one more team member, and he chose Spensha Baker. Spensha was fine and all, but after Wilkes‘s incredible performance Tuesday, despite a mic stand malfunction, it was surprising that he didn’t make it in the Top 12.
Another surprise came from Team Alicia. After America voted through Jackie Foster, Alicia decided to save Christiana Danielle. Which meant that Terrence Cunningham, who has been killing it all season, was going home.
As for Team Kelly, America saved Kaleb Lee, while she saved D.R. King. And that just left Adam, who used his save on Jackie Verna, after America chose Rayshun Lamarr. That’s easy to understand, after his amazing performance of “I’m Going Down” earlier in the night.
The Voice airs Mondays and Tuesdays at 8 p.m. on NBC. Watch clips and full episodes of The Voice for free on Yahoo View.
