Tori Spelling has the ultimate parenting hack for back-to-school season
Tori Spelling, 51, has the ultimate back-to-school parenting hack.
The "Beverly Hills, 90210" star says she dresses her youngest son for school the night before.
That way, both Spelling and her son get to sleep in a bit longer in the mornings.
Tori Spelling, 51, is crushing back-to-school season with a parenting hack.
During the August 27 episode of her "MisSPELLING" podcast featuring guest Debbie Gibson, Spelling spoke about how she's gotten into the habit of dressing her son for school the night before.
"I've gotten so lazy with my youngest one," Spelling told Gibson. "At night, I put him in his clothes for the next day and convinced him that it's cool to do that."
Spelling has five children with her ex Dean McDermott: Liam, 17; Stella, 16; Hattie, 12; Finn, 12; and Beau, 7. Spelling is also a stepmom to McDermott's son from a previous marriage. In March, after 18 years of marriage, the "Beverly Hills, 90210" actor filed for divorce from McDermott.
Speaking about her youngest son's daily routine, Spelling shared that he typically takes a bath after dinner, which is when she tries to get him dressed for the next day.
"But then I'll be like, 'Hey, dude.' Like, I rationalize with him; he's good at that. 'It will save an extra five minutes if we get dressed now. Then you can sleep later, and I can sleep later, wink wink," Spelling said.
"So, he sleeps in his clothes," Spelling said. "Am I a bad mom?"
Transitioning from a fun-filled summer back to school can be tough for students and parents alike.
Education experts previously told Business Insider that parents can put their kids on a school-friendly schedule ahead of time to help smoothen the transition process. It also helps if parents can find ways to get their kids acquainted with other students and the wider school community through in-person events such as orientation or playdates.
A representative for Spelling didn't immediately respond to a request for comment from Business Insider, sent outside business hours.
