The Toxic Avenger Actor Details On-Set Experience
Ahead of the release date for The Toxic Avenger, actor Julian Kostov has described what life was like behind the scenes.
The film, a reboot of the cheesy ‘80s horror-comedy, stars Peter Dinklage as a scientist who gets new powers after being dunked in a vat of toxic ooze.
Kostov, best-known for providing performance capture for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 villain Makarov, plays rock band frontman Bud Berserk in the film. He’s “a Joker-like blonde rap rocker…who's also a hitman with the whole band for Elijah Wood.”
During shooting, Kostov was surprised at just how big a Lord of the Rings fan Wood (Frodo in The Lord of the Rings trilogy) was. A tattoo on the arm of the fictional band's drummer tipped him off.
"The drummer has an actual tree of Gondor tattoo on his arm. Elijah spotted that from across the room and went up to him and said, ‘Oh my god, is it the tree of Gondor?’ And he's like, ‘Yeah’, and he's like, ‘Oh my god’.”
So if you want to impress Wood, get a Lord of the Rings tattoo.
The Toxic Avenger has finished production, but a release date has not yet been announced. Meanwhile another hot property is en route to theatres as The Minecraft movie locks in its cast.
