Tracee Ellis Ross is a real fan of fashion and shoes. The actor revealed some intel about her purchases over the years on the debut episode of the new Harper’s Bazaar series, “The Good Buy.” In it, she revealed some of her favorite shoe brands that she feels make comfortable heels — Paris Texas and Prada — as well as a shoe she has a current obsession with: the Bottega Veneta Puddle boot.

“I love a big shoe,” Ross said on the podcast, adding that she owns the Puddle boot in five different colors. “The real of it is I have very long femurs which is the bone that goes from your knee to your hip. It’s the reason I was a very good long distance runner. But I feel my leg looks best — I’m talking in this manner because it’s ridiculous what I’m saying to you, but I know that about myself: I am ridiculous. So my knee to my ankle I feel is a bit short and uses a lift really well. So if I need a flat, sometime you need a bigger shoe.”

Her current big shoe of choice is Bottega’s chunky ankle puddle boot. Years ago, Ross chose shoes like Balenciaga sneakers. She owns about 12 pairs of Balenciaga sneakers, three of which are the company’s Triple S style.

But in the episode, Ross also discussed some regrets. The founder of Pattern Beauty admitted that as she gets older, high heels are becoming a significant hurdle for her because she has problems with her knees. This is a marked difference from her earlier years when the Christian Louboutin So Kate — which she says is “a torture device, that’s not a shoe” — was one of her preferred styles of shoes.

“So the Louboutin So Kate, I’ve been wearing for years,” Ross said in the interview. “I’ve been wearing it honestly since around ‘Girlfriends.’ I bought a version of the So Kate. It was a white pump that was all crystal on the outside and I decided that was my wedding shoe so I bought three pairs of them. I still have all three pairs of them. No wedding plans, I still haven’t gotten married. Now I’m like I don’t want to wear that shoe, I want to wear a flat. But I still have it.”

When interviewers mentioned that Zendaya has recently popularized the So Kate, Ross’s response was simple: “I think Zendaya could be my child.” Zendaya has worn the So Kate, a shoe that was inspired by Kate Moss, since the beginning of her career but earlier this year during her press tour for “Challengers” it became a topic of conversation. As a result, demand for the Christian Louboutin So Kate, a tall single-sole pump, skyrocketed.

Louboutin has since debuted a new pump that is marketed as a sharper, more angular version of the So Kate called the Miss Z.
