Tracker Shake-Up: [Spoiler] Out Ahead of Season 2 (Exclusive)
Tracker will be down a handler this fall. TVLine can exclusively confirm that Robin Weigert, who co-starred as Teddi Bruin in Season 1, will not return as a series regular for Season 2 of the Justin Hartley drama.
No word yet on how Weigert’s exit will be explained on screen. Both CBS and 20th Television declined comment.

Despite Teddi’s absence, Abby McEnany, who plays Teddi’s wife (and Colter Shaw’s fellow handler) Velma, will be back. Showrunner Elwood Reid previously told TVLine that the Season 2 opener will see Velma “taking on a very interesting role with something that was hinted at with Reenie’s character in the final couple episodes” of Season 1.
Tracker, based on the best-selling novel The Never Game by Jeffery Deaver, stars This Is Us vet Hartley as the aforementioned Colter Shaw, “a lone-wolf survivalist who roams the country as a reward seeker, using his expert tracking skills to help private citizens and law enforcement solve all manner of mysteries,” according to the official logline.
Each week in Season 1, handlers Teddi and Velma helped Colter track down cases; computer whiz Bobby (played by Eric Graise) offered remote tech support; and good friend/personal attorney Reenie (Fiona Rene) flew out to assist whenever Colter ran up against the law.
In his spare time, Colter contended with a fractured family — and a potential conspiracy involving his late father. Season 1 guest stars Jensen Ackles, Melissa Roxburgh and Wendy Crewson — who appeared as Colter’s brother Russell, his sister Dory, and his mother Mary, respectively — all are due back in Season 2.
Tracker kicks off CBS Premiere Week when Season 2 begins airing Sunday, Oct. 13, at 8/7c. In the meantime, hit the comments and let us know if you’ll miss Teddi.
