A New Trailer for 'Landman' Season 1 Just Dropped—And It's Intense
The oil business is booming (in more ways than one) in the new trailer for Taylor Sheridan's upcoming drama series, Landman.
The Paramount+ show from the mind of Yellowstone's creator is a modern-day tale of fortune seeking in the world of oil rigs, set in West Texas and based on Christian Wallace’s 2019 podcast Boomtown. The show follows Oscar winner Billy Bob Thornton, who plays Tommy Norris (aka the "Landman,") as he navigates the fierce world of Texas oil rigs, where there’s a new obstacle gumming up the pipelines each and every day.
Along with Thornton, the rest of the impressive star-studded cast includes Jon Hamm, Demi Moore, Ali Larter, Michelle Randolph, Jacob Lofland, Kayla Wallace, James Jordan, Mark Collie, and Paulina Chávez.

If that video is anything to go off of, this show is sure to be a wild ride from start to finish. In the official trailer for season 1, viewers get a glimpse at the transparent magnitude of the volatile industry. From fiery feuds between characters to actual fiery flames of destructive explosions at the rigs, the show is certainly action-packed.
The new trailer goes further than the first teaser trailer in delivering a look at the intense relationships born in the show. Tommy Norris (Thornton), a crisis manager in the oil industry who describes himself as "a divorced alcoholic with $500 thousand in debt" works to pull his son (Jacob Lofland) into the business while navigating the corruption of the world around him.
You also see tense glimpses of Texas oil industry titan Monty Miller (Jon Hamm) and his wife Cami Miller (Demi Moore), who both have close ties to Norris, as well as Tommy's headstrong ex-wife, Angela (Ali Larter).
But all that power in this Texas town comes with a price—heard in a voiceover warning from star Billy Bob Thornton that seems to sum up the whole show: "Men die. Oil companies don't."
The oil drilling and profiteering series will premiere Sunday, November 17, on Paramount+. This only adds to Sheridan’s growing slate on the streaming service, which includes 1923, 1883, Lawmen: Bass Reeves, Tulsa King, Mayor of Kingstown, and Special Ops: Lioness.
Landman will debut with a two-episode premiere with subsequent episodes of the 10-episode first season dropping on the platform every Sunday until its finale on January 12, 2025. Let the battle for oil begin!
