The Trailer For Taylor Sheridan’s ‘Landman’ Is The Most Action-Packed Thing You'll See Today
Buckle up, y’all.
The first trailer for Taylor Sheridan’s star-studded new series is finally here!
Paramount+ just released a nearly two-minute preview of Landman, a show based on Texas Monthly’s hit podcast “Boomtown,” starring Billy Bob Thornton, Jon Hamm, Demi Moore, and Ali Larter.
“The oil and gas industry makes $3 billion a day in pure profit,” Thornton says in a voiceover. “But before any of that money is made, you got to secure the land and manage the people. That’s my job. The first part is pretty simple, it’s the second part that can get you killed.”
Per the official logline, Landman “is set in the proverbial boomtowns of West Texas and is a modern day tale of fortune seeking in the world of oil rigs. The series is an upstairs/downstairs story of roughnecks and wildcat billionaires fueling a boom so big, it’s reshaping our climate, our economy and our geopolitics.”
The podcast was hosted by Christian Wallace who grew up in West Texas, worked on an oil rig, and got a front row seat to the oil boom and bust in the region. The show has plenty of juicy fodder for Sheridan to turn into a compelling TV series. “It really focuses on greed," Sheridan said about the series. "The very best and the very worst of man, of humanity. And that is a story worth telling and worth exploring."
