The Traitors Season 3: Who Could Win, and Who Has No Shot?
The cast list for Season 3 of The Traitors was released earlier this month. The upcoming season will feature 21 ambitious contestants eager to take home the $250,000 prize pot. Tom Sandoval, Chrishell Stause, and Dolores Catania are just a few of the names mentioned in the all-star cast. Seasons 1 and 2 of the popular Peacock show were both released in January, so we’ll likely have to wait a bit to see these stars battle it out in Scotland.
While we wait, let’s reflect on the cast and unpack who has the best chance at winning. The Traitors is a tricky game. To succeed, you have to be cunning yet likable, savvy but not intimidating. It’s a master class in social prowess and not everyone is cut out for it. When the cast list was first released, a few names jumped out at me for both good and bad reasons.
Here are some of the contestants I think have the best (and worst) shot at winning Season 3 of The Traitors.
Rob Mariano – Worst shot
Survivor legend Rob Mariano is a master of social strategy and manipulation but so was Dan Gheesling and Parvati Shallow. I worry about Rob’s chances on The Traitors. Survivor and Big Brother players often enter the castle with a target on their back and for good reason. They are super sus! His reputation alone could stir up some traitor allegations. If he is a traitor, I suspect it will be hard for him to go undetected. If he is a faithful, I could see him suffering a similar fate as Peter Weber. He’s a leader and that may rub some of his comrades the wrong way. I don’t see a path to the end for him but I hope I’m wrong.
Danielle Reyes – Best shot
Look, I know what I just said about Big Brother and Survivor players being cursed but I think Danielle Reyes has the power to break the BB stigma. She’s smart, cunning, and knows how to manage social relationships. She is often regarded as the best player to never win Big Brother. I’m sure she will get some side-eye when she comes into the house. Her reputation speaks for itself. However, I believe she will be able to disguise her threat level better than Rob. He carries a certain level of machismo that is hard to ignore.
Tom Sandoval – Worst shot
I see Sandoval having a similar trajectory as Season 2 contestant Kevin Kreider. He doesn’t strike me as a social strategist and he’s, you know, “the most hated man in America,” per the New York Times. He’s got a lot going against him. My prediction is he will be an easy first boot. I personally would like to see him go far. The man is great TV. I’m sure he will be delivering drama at the roundtables. Despite my wishes, I don’t think a win is in the cards for this Vanderpump Rules star.
Robyn Dixon – Best shot
Robyn Dixon earned a spot on my “Bravo Stars Who Would Be Terrible on The Traitors” list but I’ve changed a lot since then. I now feel most optimistic about her chances in the game. Do I think she will be a savvy, strategist who eliminates her enemies one-by-one with tact and precision? No, I don’t. Do I think she will be likable enough to get dragged along to the end? Yes, I do. I don’t think she’ll win the game as a traitor but as a faithful, she might, I could see her following a similar course as Shereé Whitfield in Season 2. I think she’ll align herself well and be loyal to her allies.
Dorinda Medley – Worst shot
I would love a Dorinda Medley win but I don’t think we’ll get it. She has a short fuse and that is no good in a game like The Traitors. I predict she’ll go home relatively early after pissing some people off. I just hope we get a Berkshires-style roundtable meltdown before her time on the show is over.
