Travis Kelce Identifies Athletic Quality He Doesn’t Have in 'Best' Exchange With Michael Phelps
In honor of the ongoing Paris Olympics, Jason and Travis Kelce shared a clip of their podcast, New Heights, in which they earnestly considered what Olympic sports they might be good at—leading to an interesting conversation with Michael Phelps.
During the short clip shared via Instagram, Travis read a question that appeared to come from a fan asking their thoughts on the topic, stipulating that it can't be any sport they've played before.
Immediately, curling came to Travis' mind, with the Kansas City Chiefs player saying, "Let's just go and see how good we are at curling." According to Jason, the brothers are good at cornhole, bocce and beer pong, which might transfer over to good skills for curling.
"I'm a good sweeper. I mean I don't sweep often, but when I do it, it's good," Jason argued for himself. Travis agreed, saying, "Our understanding of angles and speed, I just think we'd kill it." They also considered if they'd be good at bobsledding, although Travis noted, "Neither one of us can drive [well]."
In response to the clip, Olympic gold medalist Phelps questioned in the comments, "No swimming?" to which Travis replied with the one reason he doesn't think he would do well in the sport.
"lmao too heavy, don’t have the wingspan ??," Travis responded.
Phelps, who is 6 feet, 4 inches tall, has a reported wingspan of 6 feet, 7 inches, according to the U.S. Olympic & Paralympic Museum.
Fans enjoyed Travis and Phelps' conversation, with replies like, "best comment ! Haha," and "I'd like to see that!"
A few shared responses to Travis' denial, such as a fan who said, "sinking may be a problem unless it becomes a sport. ??," while someone else suggested, "ok but @jason.kelce would kill at a cannonball competition."
Other fans used Phelps' comment as an opportunity to encourage him to appear on New Heights when it returns this fall, although it remains to be seen if he will collaborate with the Kelce brothers.
