Travis Kelce Loves ‘Awesome’ Gossip Girl—Here’s Why It’s the Perfect Show for Taylor Swift’s Beau

Travis Kelce is once again making headlines, but not for his romantic relationship with Taylor Swift or his football skills, but because of his choice in television shows. The tight end recently revealed on his podcast New Heights—which he hosts with his brother Jason—that he has a secret love for the popular teen drama Gossip Girl.  Keep scrolling to learn the shocking reason why. 

Why Travis Kelce loves ‘Gossip Girl’ 

Gossip Girl ran on The CW from 2007 to 2012 and followed the privileged lives of Manhattan's wealthiest teens. It starred Blake Lively, Leighton Meester, Chace Crawford, Ed Westwick, Penn Badgley and more. 

“My guy, Chace Crawford. Blake Lively. Shoot me, but I forget the rest of the names of the cast. It’s awesome.” Travis said in his podcast. “It’s like a New York high school show with a lot of drama and basically everybody gossiping and talking s--- on each other.”  

However, he did admit that “I used to not tell everybody that I watched Gossip Girl growing up,” to which Jason replied, “You watched Gossip Girl? You should be embarrassed about that.”

Travis just laughed it off and assured his brother, “Dude, if you watched it, you could get in deep.”

Sadly, Travis has moved on from his Gossip Girl era and is now all about the reality show Traitors and how he even thinks that his brother Jason “would f------ crush it on Traitors.” 

The eldest Kelce disagreed, though, saying he's an "awful liar." 

Jason also took the time to share his favorite TV show to watch with his wife Kylie at the moment, which is none other than The Great British Baking Show. 

“Every time a new season comes out we sit down and watch that. I mean it’s fantastic,” the retired Eagles player said. 

Travis Kelce’s shocking connection to ‘Gossip Girl’ 

As noted above, Gossip Girl stars actress Blake Lively, who just happens to be best friends with Travis’ girlfriend, Taylor Swift. 

Lively has also attended a few of Travis’s games with Swift during the 2023 to 2024 season, including the 2024 Super Bowl, which the Chiefs won.  

Lively, Swift, Travis and Lively’s kids also reportedly all hung out at the singer’s Rhode Island house at the end of August. Ryan Reynolds, Bradley Cooper, Patrick and Brittany Mahomes and Jason and Kylie Kelce were also reported to be in attendance. 

What is Travis Kelce doing now? 

When he’s not playing for the Kansas City Chiefs, Travis can actually be found starring on the small screen! 

The tight end appears in Ryan Murphy’s Grotesquerie, which debuted on FX on September 25.

“I’m not going to lie; I focused on my parts more than I understood the entire grand scheme of the show,” Travis revealed. “So there are parts that I was like watching the trailer, and I’m just like, ‘Oh, this is really interesting.’ I’m definitely going to dive in and watch it for sure.”

The show stars Niecy Nash, Courtney B. Vance, Nicholas Alexander Chavex, Raven Goodwin and more. 

“Niecy Nash is amazing, and she just had a blast,’ Travis said. 

And it turns out the feeling is mutual! "Travis was very open. He was very open about if there was a note or a suggestion given. So amenable. 'Tell me what I don't know. Tell me what your thoughts are on this,’” Nash said. “I love that he didn't come in trying to act like, 'I know everything, and I know it all.'"

She also promised that "I think that fans are going to find him very charming in this role.”
