Travis Scott Exudes Houston Pride In “Mo City Flexologist” Music Video
Travis Scott unleashes visuals to “Mo City Flexologist,” a previously vaulted track that was released as part of the deluxe version of his Days Before Rodeo mixtape.
Inspired by the Houston suburb Missouri City, the “Mo City Flexologist” video begins with words paying homage to Scott’s stomping grounds, including mentions of local high schools Hightower and Douglas MacArthur.
“In Mo City, we just go up,” LaFlame can be heard declaring from the back of a vehicle. “That’s how we do,” he continues, adding, “We go up” before the track’s opening hook comes in.
Rhyming over production courtesy of Honorable C.N.O.T.E., Travis comes with a fiery verse, boasting “Diamonds dancin’ like the Double Dribble/ Ooh, they love when La Flame turn five-hundred degrees” before deeming himself his city’s most prolific stunner.
“You might need a psychologist, Mo City fle-fle-flexologist/ Pornographic, shootin’ on Metropolis/ Double-dippin’, hope that’s not your bi**h” he adds, as the video captures shots of his hometown’s scenery.
First teased back in 2014, “Mo City Flexologist” never saw an official release until the arrival of Days Before Rodeo‘s deluxe version back in August. The song’s accompanying visual, directed by Kahlil Joseph, shot by Chayse Irvin, and edited by PARALLAX, arrived a month later on Tuesday (Sept. 24).
Commercially released and uploaded to streaming services in celebration of the mixtape’s 10-year anniversary, Days Before Rodeo was projected to debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 with 361,000 album-equivalent units, of which 331,000 were pure album sales.
Considered Scott’s breakout musical project and a cult classic, Days Before Rodeo includes a mix of fan favorites and future hits, such as “Mamacita” featuring Thug and Rich Homie Quan, “Skyfall” featuring Young Thug, “Sloppy Toppy” featuring Migos and Peewee Longway, and “Drugs You Should Try It.”
