Triumph the Insult Comic Dog trolls Lindsey Graham with sign: 'Will Lie for Rubles'
Triumph the Insult Comic Dog, otherwise known as comedian Robert Smigel, took to Capitol Hill last week to cover the impeachment of President Trump for The Late Show With Stephen Colbert. Alongside actual reporters, Triumph repeatedly shouted questions at various players in the impeachment like Utah Sen. Mitt Romney and indicted Rudy Giuliani associate Lev Parnas.
Triumph even found himself in a live background shot on Fox News, and trolled ardent Trump defender and South Carolina Sen. Lindsey Graham live on CNN. While Graham was speaking about the impeachment trial, Triumph held up a sign behind Graham’s head that read, “WILL LIE FOR RUBLES.” Rubles, of course, being Russian currency.
Triumph particularly enjoyed trolling Graham. While Graham was passing by, Triumph yelled after him, “Sen. Graham, I saw the video of you wanting witnesses at Clinton’s impeachment in the ’90s. Why would you change everything about yourself and keep that haircut?” Another time, Triumph asked Graham, “Why do you look like every guy that saw the movie Cats alone?”
Triumph also went looking for Sens. Ted Cruz and Mitch McConnell but they were nowhere to be found.
The Tonight Show With Stephen Colbert airs weeknights at 11:35 p.m. on CBS.
