Amy Schumer, Pink mock Trump over rally turnout: 'What that arena looked like when it has people in it'
Amy Schumer is among those mocking the turnout at Donald Trump’s Tulsa rally.
The comedian shared footage from her world tour stop at BOK Center in April 2016. The footage, from NYC filmmaker and photographer Marcus Russell Price, showed a packed house.
“I thought some may want to see what that arena looked like when it has people in it,” quipped Schumer, the first female comedian to sell out NYC’s Madison Square Garden.
She also shared the video in her stories, writing, “Same arena in Tulsa but with people in it.”
On Saturday, singer Pink shared a news report from Trump’s rally, writing that she “sold that same place out in five minutes.”

Other female musical acts to sell out the venue include Taylor Swift, Lady Gaga, Cardi B and Ariana Grande. So have the bands The Eagles and Metallica. And the popular Australian children’s music group, The Wiggles, did too.
Anthony Field of The Wiggles retweeted side by side images of his group’s show at BOK Center next to the Trump rally. “To be fair, we had a better light show!” he joked.

There was much hype over Trump’s rally — most of it from the president himself. However, the venue, which holds over 19,000 people, had a crowd of less than 6,200 per the city fire marshal’s office. An outdoor overflow area set up was scrapped when it became apparent that turnout would be low.
Trump, who infamously had staff lie about the crowd size at his inauguration, falsely claimed he had never had an empty seat at one of his rallies and said that 1 million people had requested tickets to the Tulsa rally. TikTok users and K-Pop superfans now claim to have registered hundreds of thousands of tickets as a prank.
Yahoo News reports that Trump has become increasingly frustrated with his campaign manager, Brad Parscale, and is “getting madder by the day.” Parscale blamed the low attendance on the coronavirus and the media “warning people away.” He also claimed that demonstrations outside “blocked access,” a statement that has since been debunked.
As Trump arrived in Oklahoma aboard Air Force One, it was brought to his attention that the crowd size was smaller than expected, per the New York Times, which described him as stunned. Backstage, he yelled at aides while “looking at the endless rows of empty blue seats in the upper bowl of the stadium.”
The rally was set to be the country’s largest indoor event since the pandemic led to lockdowns. Many in attendance skipped masks — which Trump and his officials did as well.
