Trump Thanks Kanye West for ‘Dragon Energy’ Shout-Out: ‘Very Cool!’
President Donald Trump has responded to Kanye West’s support, calling the rapper’s tweets “very cool.”
Earlier on Wednesday, West tweeted that he has “love” for the president despite not agreeing with all of his actions. “You don’t have to agree with trump but the mob can’t make me not love him,” he wrote. “We are both dragon energy. He is my brother. I love everyone.”
That was followed by a few more tweets discussing his support for Trump, including a photo of his signed “Make America Great Again” hat.

Mixed in with his tweets boasting about the success of his Yeezy shoe line (“I am currently the single highest paid person in footwear. That means I make more money on shoes than Michael Jordan.”) and pronouncements that his future bid for president is alive and well (“Harvey Levin of TMZ [“you’re”] hearing from your future president. Let’s be friends.”), West explained that he doesn’t fully agree with all of Trump’s positions but supports him nonetheless.
“If your friend jumps off the bridge you don’t have to do the same,” he wrote. “Ye being Ye is a fight for you to be you … I don’t tell a Hillary supporter not to support Hillary. I love Hillary too.”

West’s recent return to Twitter has earned him a lot of attention, due in large part to tweets backing controversial figures like the president and Black Lives Matter critic Candace Owens. Last week, the rapper announced that his stream-of-consciousness Twitter feed should be considered as a “book that I’m writing in real time.”
“No publisher or publicist will tell me what to put where or how many pages to write,” he wrote. “This is not a financial opportunity this is an innate need to be expressive.”
Thank you Kanye, very cool! https://t.co/vRIC87M21X
