Trump calls incorrect Fox Business graphic on approval rating 'great news' — and Twitter has thoughts

Fox Business host Lou Dobbs displayed a graphic Wednesday night showing that a recent Georgetown University poll had President Trump’s approval rating at 55 percent, and that was later shared by the President himself. The only problem is, the graphic was incorrect.

The poll actually shows that President Trump’s “overall unfavorable rating has remained steady at 55 percent,” while his approval rating was at just 41 percent.

Viewers were quick to respond on Twitter, including the Director of Georgetown Politics, to point out the error.

Despite the error, some viewers shared in the president’s joy over the numbers.

And while Trump’s tweet remained up as of Thursday afternoon, even Fox News corrected the poll on Thursday morning during a segment with White House correspondent Kevin Corke.

“There was actually a typo in that graphic,” Corke said. “The 55 percent approval rating should have been 55 percent disapproval.”

Lou Dobbs Tonight airs weekdays at 7 p.m. on Fox Business.
