Tucker Carlson continues attack on 'moron' and 'coward' Sen. Tammy Duckworth
Tucker Carlson is showing no signs of ending his attack on Democratic Sen. Tammy Duckworth. On Monday’s Tucker Carlson Tonight, Carlson claimed that the veteran — and Purple Heart recipient who lost her legs when the Black Hawk helicopter she was co-piloting was shot down in Iraq — hates America because, in an interview with CNN over the weekend, Duckworth said we should listen to the argument of those calling for the removal of George Washington statues, which prompted a quick response from Duckworth on Twitter.
Does @TuckerCarlson want to walk a mile in my legs and then tell me whether or not I love America?

But, contrary to Carlson’s claims, Duckworth never said Washington statues should be removed, simply that the people who want to take down the statues because the first president was a slaveowner should be heard. On Tuesday, Carlson doubled down on his claim that Duckworth hates the United States.
“Only someone who hates the country would suggest ripping down monuments to its founder,” Carlson said. “Apparently, Tammy Duckworth saw what we said. She didn’t disagree with it exactly, instead she questioned our right to criticize her at all since she was once injured while serving in the Illinois National Guard.” Carlson later added, “To morons like Tammy Duckworth, Washington is just some old white guy who has to be erased. Let’s tear down his statues. Rename our capitol city Sharpton or Mandela and let the revolution continue.”
Because Duckworth, a highly decorated Army veteran who retired as a lieutenant colonel, declined to come on his show, and requested an apology, Carlson took his attack on the Illinois lawmaker even further.
“Keep in mind, Tammy Duckworth is not a child, at least not technically,” Carlson said. “She is a sitting United States senator who is often described as a hero. Yet Duckworth is too afraid to defend her own statements on a cable TV show. What a coward.”
But Duckworth wasn’t alone in being singled out by Carlson. On Tuesday night, he claimed Democratic Rep. Ilhan Omar also hates the United States.
“If anyone should love America, it’s Ilhan Omar,” Carlson said. “This country rescued her from a squalid Kenyan refugee camp and made her a national figure. Quite an ascent. But Ilahn Omar is not grateful, she hates us for it.”
Omar joined Duckworth as a target of Carlson’s ire by suggesting earlier in the day that the country should stamp out inequality and oppression wherever it is found in our political and economic system.
“We can’t stop at criminal justice reform or policing reform. We are not merely fighting to tear down the systems of oppression in the criminal justice system. We are fighting to tear down systems of oppression that exist in housing, in education, in healthcare, in employment, in the air we breathe,” Omar said, later adding, “As long as our economy and political systems prioritize profit without considering who is profiting, who is being shut out, we will perpetuate this inequality. So we cannot stop at [the] criminal justice system. We must begin the work of dismantling the whole system of oppression wherever we find it.”
Carlson took that as Omar saying “it’s time to dismantle our country,” and it’s time to dismantle “the American economy and the American system of government.”
“When vandals like Tammy Duckworth and Ilhan Omar tell us that we’re not allowed to question their patriotism, even as they scream about how horrible America is,” Carlson said, “we have every right to laugh in their faces.”
