Tucker Des Lauriers (‘Big Brother 26’) exit interview: ‘I knew when people got the shot to take me out they were going to take it’
Week 6 in the “Big Brother” house ended Thursday night, with T’Kor Clottey’s reign as Head of Household ousting the most dominant player of Season 26. Following Cam Sullivan-Brown‘s Veto win on Wednesday, Angela Murray, Makensy Manbek and Tucker Des Lauriers were left on the block. When Makensy saved herself in the A.I. Arena, Tucker was evicted by a vote of 5-3 over Angela, despite originally going up as a pawn. The 30-year-old marketing executive from Brooklyn, New York became the sixth houseguest sent packing from Season 26.
Known for being a comp beast, Tucker looked out of sorts in the A.I. Arena’s game of “Puzzling Password.” Host Julie Chen Moonves was so surprised, she asked Tucker if he threw the competition on purpose.

“I built the thing backwards,” he admitted during his exit interview. “I love puzzles! I just misunderstood this one.” Tucker was not surprised to hear the three people who voted to keep him in the game were Rubina Bernabe, Kimo Apaka and Joseph Rodriguez. But when asked who he felt betrayed, by he stated, “Nobody, they’re all lovely people. I knew I was a tough competitor and I knew when people got the shot to take me out they were going to take it.”
Although he thought Makensy would vote to keep him in the game, Tucker wasn’t surprised she flipped. “I wasn’t going to vote to keep her, so what goes around comes around,” he admitted. “I think she heard I was playing her, so that’s what happens. I needed that win really bad and I didn’t get it, but it still feels like a win having this opportunity.”
Angela told Tucker straight to his face that she betrayed him, yet he still stuck his neck out for her. Why? “I’m a man of my word,” he responded. “I didn’t want to fall back on it and I figured if I won that and Angela stayed she would maybe finally believe me.” Despite leaving a “Big Brother” loser, America still rewarded Tucker $20,000 for his work as the A.I. Instigator. That was a quick way to lift his spirits.
Finally, Tucker became choked up as he assured America that his showmance with Rubina was real, stating, “I’ve never met someone like her. She’s an amazing person and it’s going to be really hard to not see her for a while, but I’ll be watching and rooting for her very hard.” For his final words Tucker exclaimed, “I like to play games! This was fun! I played as hard as I could.”
