Turnpike Troubadours to play two OKC concerts featuring Jason Isbell: How to get tickets
The Turnpike Troubadours will ring in 2024 by returning to Oklahoma City's Paycom Center.
After playing their first headlining arena show in their home state in November 2022 at the OKC arena, the Oklahoma Red Dirt rockers will return to the Paycom Center for a two-night stand Jan. 19-20.
The Oklahoma City shows will feature four-time Grammy Award winner Jason Isbell and the 400 Unit, along with special guest Charles Wesley Godwin.
Turnpike Troubadours continuing successful comeback with new album
After an "indefinite hiatus" that lasted almost three years, the Troubadours — lead singer and guitarist Evan Felker, lead guitarist Ryan Engleman, bassist RC Edwards, fiddler Kyle Nix, drummer Gabe Pearson and steel guitarist and accordion player Hank Early — embarked on a successful comeback last year and have been touring steadily since.
They've earned 1.5 billion streams globally and are selling out arenas and headlining festivals.
The beloved Red Dirt band, which originated in Tahlequah, released in August the 10-song studio collection "A Cat in the Rain," the long-awaited follow-up to the group's 2017 album "A Long Way from Your Heart."
Jason Isbell joining Turnpike Troubadours for OKC shows
An Americana music star, Isbell will join the Troubadours for their January OKC shows. Isbell and his backing band, the 400 Unit, will be playing in support of their new album "Weathervanes," which bowed in June. The album includes songs Isbell penned while working in Oklahoma on Martin Scorsese's highly anticipated fact-based epic film "Killers of the Flower Moon."
Rounding out the bill for the OKC shows will be Godwin, the West Virginia country-folk musician who recently toured with another popular Oklahoma Red Dirt act, Zach Bryan.
Godwin also released his new album, "Family Ties," earlier this year.
