Your TV to-do list: Winter is here, as is 'The Defenders'
With so much to watch on TV it can be difficult to plan ahead. But we’re here to help! Here are the five shows you won’t want to miss this week.
Broadchurch: Wednesday, Aug. 16, at 10 p.m. on BBC America
It’s the end of the road for the ace detective team of Hardy and Miller, played to perfection by David Tennant and Olivia Coleman. But things are just getting started for creator Chris Chibnall and co-star Jodie Whittaker, who are moving to Tennant’s old digs aboard a certain time-and-space hopping telephone booth.
Marvel’s The Defenders: Friday, Aug. 18, on Netflix
It’s a team-up for the ages as Daredevil, Jessica Jones, and Luke Cage take on O.G. badass Sigourney Weaver. What’s that? Oh yeah, and Iron Fist is there, too…
Halt and Catch Fire: Saturday, Aug. 19, at 9 p.m. on AMC
The perennially on-the-bubble drama set in the halcyon days of the ’80s and ’90s tech boom returns for its fourth and final season, now with more Anna Chlumsky.
Game of Thrones: Sunday, Aug. 20, at 9 p.m. on HBO
GoT goes big before it goes home after next week’s Season 7 finale, with a 75-minute penultimate episode that’s sure to have plenty of White Walkers.
Episodes: Sunday, Aug. 20, at 10 p.m. on Showtime
We’ll be there for the fifth and final season of behind-the-scenes-of-Hollywood tomfoolery caused by everyone’s favorite Friend, Matt LeBlanc.
