The Young and the Restless is welcoming back veteran producer Edward J. Scott, who will return to his soap roots after spending the last 14 years at The Bold and the Beautiful, our sister site Deadline reports.

Scott — who worked at Y&R from 1976-2007 before moving to Days of Our Lives and then B&B — will hold the title of senior producer. (Josh Griffith serves as Y&R’s executive producer and head writer.)

During Scott’s time as executive producer of Y&R, the CBS soap received multiple Daytime Emmy Awards for Outstanding Drama Series. This past June, Scott and his wife, Y&R star Melody Thomas Scott (pictured above), were honored with the Life Achievement Award at 2024 Daytime Emmys.
