TVLine Items: Josh Elliott’s NBC Sports Debut Date, Anna Kendrick’s SNL Promos and More
NBC Sports on Wednesday officially announced the addition of broadcaster Josh Elliott to its roster. The former Good Morning America anchor will make his debut May 3 with coverage of the Kentucky Derby.

* Comedy Central has ordered a cop comedy pilot from Happy Endings executive producers David Caspe and Jamie Tarses and Happy writers Matthew and Daniel Libman, our sister site Deadline reports. Duty follows a former football star (Mike O’Gorman, Ugly Americans) who moves back to his hometown and becomes a police officer.
* Saturday Night Live rolled out the promos for Anna Kendrick’s hosting debut this weekend. Featuring Taran Killam, the video finds Kendrick harmonizing, analyzing her dreams and being declared the official “Fun Winner.” Watch:
* Today show staples Matt Lauer and Al Roker will make cameo appearances in Sharknado 2: The Second One, premiering June 31 at 9/8c on Syfy.
* Discovery Channel and Science Channel are teaming up with Google Lunar XPRIZE, a $30 million international competition in which privately funded teams race to land a craft on the moon’s surface. The competition will air as a miniseries on the networks, and the landing will be televised live in 2015.
