“Twilight”'s Elizabeth Reaser Shares Details About Secret, Star-Studded Wedding to Composer Bruce Gilbert

Reaser tied the knot in August 2023 in an Italian wedding officiated by Holland Taylor

Twilight star Elizabeth Reaser has revealed that she secretly got married.

The actress, 48, opened up to Vogue about tying the knot with composer Bruce Gilbert in Italy in August 2023.

“Originally, we were making these huge lists of people to invite but we realized pretty quickly it didn't feel right for us," Reaser said in the article published Thursday, April 4. "We decided to elope instead, with a couple of friends as witnesses."

Reaser had three guests at her ceremony: Gossip Girl actress Megan Ferguson, 41, her husband, The Magicians actor Nico Evers-Swindell, 45, and Sarah Paulson, 49. Paulson's partner, Holland Taylor, 81, officiated the wedding.

On the day, Reaser sported a gown from Danielle Frankel as well as earrings that were gifted to her by her pals Ferguson, Taylor and Paulson. The Grey's Anatomy alum also sported a ribbon around her neck that was given to her by Frankel.

The intimate ceremony took place at Hotel Caruso’s Wagner Garden, overlooking the Amalfi Coast.

“Bruce reached out to two musicians — a mandolin player and a guitarist — that we had fallen in love with the year before at Il San Pietro, and we exited to their rendition of ‘Oh Baby’ by LCD Soundsystem that Bruce asked them to arrange in advance,” she said.

The Dark Harvest star added, “It was so beautiful that we stopped at the end of the aisle and had an impromptu first dance. I think it may have been the purest moment of happiness in my life.”

Reaser also told Vogue that her guests enjoyed champagne and dinner under olive trees. Toasts were given as the bride and groom had their first dance “to an arrangement of Caetano Veloso’s ‘Cucurrucucu Paloma’ that Bruce had the musicians prepare.”

“I want to do it all over again!” Reaser gushed to the magazine. “Truly. I feel so lucky.”

Per Vogue, Reaser and Gilbert’s romance began in 2017 when he was walking his dogs while Reaser was hosting a dog playdate in her backyard. After being called over by her friend, Gilbert — who had met Reaser “briefly eight years prior at another friend’s party” — asked for Reaser’s number the following day.

“We owe our dogs everything! And our pal, who called him over,” Reaser said.

The pair then got engaged at Hotel Il San Pietro di Positano, which is located along the Amalfi coast, during the summer of 2022.

“I was completely shocked,” Reaser recalled to Vogue, adding, “He secretly filmed it by shoving his iPhone in a lattice on the balcony, and we watched it almost immediately after as I was in complete disbelief! Then he played Beyoncé’s ‘Summer Renaissance,’ and we danced.”
