'Twisters' star Daisy Edgar-Jones sparkles at OKC premiere in silver Givenchy dress
Leading lady Daisy Edgar-Jones sparkled on the red carpet at Monday night's Oklahoma City premiere of "Twisters."
The English actress donned a short, silver Givenchy dress with a long, narrow train at the invitation-only event at the Harkins Bricktown 16 theater. Her long brown hair was pulled back in low ponytail that looked appropriately windswept.
Edgar-Jones, her "Twisters" co-stars Glen Powell and Anthony Ramos, director Lee Isaac Chung, executive producer Ashley Jay Sandberg and storm consultant Kevin Kelleher celebrated the impending release of the summer tentpole movie by walking the red carpet at Monday's special preview screening in downtown OKC.

Along with the movie's stars, attendees included U.S. Sen. James Lankford, Lt. Gov. Matt Pinnell, OKC Mayor David Holt, "Reservation Dogs" star Lane Factor and frontman Max Rainer of the acclaimed Tulsa-based folk-rock band Wilderado, who has a cameo in the film and a song on the soundtrack.
Working with stylist Dani Michelle, Edgar-Jones has earned praise from the likes of Vogue for "whipping up a fashion storm" on the "Twisters" red carpets, where she's donned dresses by Gucci, Schiaparelli and Vivienne Westwood.
Her OKC style again blew away any notion of boring by putting bold twists on high-class Hollywood glamour: The "Twisters" star paired her highly textured Givenchy dress, beaded into a subtle cat-face design, with slickly shiny silver heels boasting dramatically pointed toes. A playful flourish at the neckline contrasted with the silvery train that flowed down to pool on the red carpet. With her dress shimmering like starbursts with her every step, Edgar-Jones opted to forgo jewelry and wear minimal makeup.
A London native who takes on a convincing Oklahoma accent, Edgar-Jones stars in the long-awaited follow-up to the 1996 blockbuster "Twister" as Kate Carter, a former storm chaser haunted by a devastating encounter with a tornado during her college years who now studies storm patterns on screens safely in New York City.
She is lured back into storm season on the open plains by her friend, Javi (Ramos) to test a groundbreaking new tracking system. Out in the field in the midst of record tornadic conditions, they cross paths with Tyler Owens (Powell), a charming and reckless social-media superstar who thrives on posting his storm-chasing adventures with his raucous crew — the more dangerous the better.
Filmed across the Sooner State last year, "Twisters" opens in theaters Friday, July 19.
