Twitter thinks Taylor Swift will win Video of the Year at the MTV VMAs

If Twitter was responsible for handing out Moonmen at this year’s MTV Video Music Awards, Taylor Swift would be named queen. According to the social media platform, Swift’s “Bad Blood” video will take home the Video of the Year award, “based on Tweets discussing the nominee and category alongside terms related to ‘winning,'” Twitter said in a statement.

Beyoncé’s “7/11” video would come in a close second for the honor, with Kendrick Lamar’s “Alright” in the No. 3 spot. In addition to potentially winning the night’s biggest award, Swift will debut her newest video for “Wildest Dreams” on Sunday.

Twitter also weighed in on the best female and male video categories. Based on its popularity within 140 characters, Best Female Video would go to “Anaconda” by Nicki Minaj, who will open this weekend’s show. Swift comes in a close second for her “Blank Space” video with Beyoncé’s “7/11” just behind in the running.

As for the men, tweeters would give Best Male Video to Nick Jonas’ “Chains.” Mark Ronson and Bruno Mars’ “Uptown Funk” grabbed Twitter’s runner-up slot and Ed Sheeran’s “Thinking Out Loud” followed the catchy pop-funk cut.

To see how the statues get divvied up for real, catch the MTV VMAs Sunday at 9 p.m. ET.
