Two of Kobe Bryant’s Nike Sneakers Are Restocking Friday
More from Footwear News
Kobe Bryant fans are about to get a third chance at securing two of his Nike Kobe sneakers in Los Angeles Lakers colorways.
The Nike Kobe 8 Protro will restock this Friday in two “Team Bank” colorways unofficially referred to as “Lakers Home” and “Lakers Away.” The former sneaker is clad predominantly in white, with purple used for the Swoosh and Bryant’s signature and gold for Bryant’s logo on the tongue and heel. The “Lakers Away” edition then inverts the application of purple and gold while featuring a black upper with a sole unit consisting of black and white sections.
Both of these sneakers originally released at the beginning of September along with three other colorways that easily conform with basketball uniforms (hence the term “Team Bank”). All five colorways then restocked on October 1, bringing wider availability for Nike Kobe sneakers since the line formally resumed in 2023. Some sizes for the remaining three colorways — “University Red,” “College Navy” and “Wolf Grey” — are even still in stock on Nike’s website.
The Kobe 8 launched in 2012 and is widely considered one of the best of Bryant’s Nike sneakers, usually behind only the Kobe 6. It’s praised for its superior traction and a dialed-in fit, and its original Cushlon foam midsole has since been replaced by React for better responsiveness and durability.
Several other Kobe 8 Protro colorways have released this year, including “Venice Beach,” the Gigi Bryant tribute “Mambacita” and “Court Purple” and “Radiant Emerald” variants featuring a repeating print of Bryant’s nos. 8 and 24.
The Nike Kobe 8 Protro “Lakers Home” and “Lakers Away” will restock Friday, November 8, through Nike’s website. Pricing is set at $180.
