Two Port Charles Vets Had It Out On General Hospital…And Only One Came Out On Top
Everyone in Port Charles has turned on Sonny one by one recently, and another General Hospital vet made their feelings for the mobster known on the April 26, 2024 episode.
Daily Good Deed
When Sonny (Maurice Benard) showed up at the gallery and saw both Ava (Maura West) and Laura (Genie Francis), he said he needed both of their help when he announced he planned to purchase a piece of art and donate it to the city. Angry with her old friend over beating her brother Cyrus (Jeff Kober), Laura immediately blurted out, “What makes you think the city would be interested in that?”
Laura asked what inspired this decision, and Sonny told her it was his kids, wanting them to spot the piece of art one day and be proud of where they’ve grown up, just like he is. Laura decided to ask Sonny what would happen if his kids one day found out he almost beat a man to death, to which Sonny asked, “Are you going to turn on me?”
The interaction only got more heated when Laura mentioned Sonny’s lack of regret and how he was in no position to judge Cyrus for his crimes. When Sonny countered that they’re family through Spencer (ex-Nicholas Alexander Chavez, who will not be returning to the show) and Rocco (Finn Francis Carr), Laura told him it doesn’t mean she can turn a blind eye to the things he’s done and people he’s killed. “It doesn’t just disappear because you did your daily good deed!” she shot his way.
Teach Your Children Well
Sonny continued trying to defend himself, and Laura continued making her feelings known, telling him to think of his children, Donna (Scarlett Spears) and Avery (Ava and Grace Scarola, who just celebrated their birthday). She asked what would happen when they got old enough to understand what their father did for a living, and Sonny simply said he’d do everything in his power to protect them.
This conversation came after Kristina (Kate Mansi) learned from Josslyn (Eden McCoy) that Sonny enlisted Dex (Evan Hofer) to kill Cyrus on a different occasion. Kristina has been hellbent on defending her father, but it’s only a matter of time before she realizes what Sonny is truly capable of.
In the end, Laura refused Sonny’s gift to the city, making him realize that Laura is no longer loyal to him.
Do you think everyone will come around when they find out Sonny’s been off his meds? Let us know in the comments.
