Tyla to Perform at Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show
Tyla is set to perform on the runway of this year’s Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show, which was announced Wednesday (Sept. 18).
Rolling Stone originally reported that Victoria’s Secret said it chose the Grammy-winning South African artist for her “vibrant personality” and “innovative take on pop and R&B,” hailing her as an “integral” part of the “entertainment, glamour and fashion” of this year’s show.

“Growing up, I was captivated by the Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show – the stunning outfits, iconic wings, and charismatic models,” Tyla said in a statement. “Now, I’m thrilled to be performing on this nostalgic and legendary stage. What’s even more exciting is the celebration of diversity, showcasing a broader range of beauty, which makes this moment truly special.”
The news arrives one day after the lingerie and clothing retailer announced Cher will headline the show, which will feature an all-women artist lineup for the first time ever. The 2024 show will take place on Oct. 15 in Brooklyn, New York, marking its grand return after a six-year hiatus. Taylor Swift, Ed Sheeran, Ariana Grande, The Weeknd, Lady Gaga, Selena Gomez and more have all performed at previous VS shows.
After being held annually from 1995 to 2018, the Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show was canceled in 2019 amid growing backlash to the brand’s lack of inclusivity and perpetuation of unrealistic beauty standards. In 2023, VS’ chief financial officer Tim Johnson stated that the company wanted to unveil a “new version” of the program in its fourth quarter earnings call. Later that year, it debuted Victoria’s Secret: The Tour ’23, a one-time Prime Video special compiling footage of A-listers Adriana Lima, Gigi Hadid, Emily Ratajkowski and Hailey Bieber modeling in different international cities. Doja Cat performed during the hour-and-a-half special, then fresh off the release of her fourth studio album, Scarlet.
