Tyler Christopher's Elvis coming to RRCA Saturday
MONROE — An award-winning Elvis tribute artist is coming to the River Raisin Centre for the Arts.
Tyler Christopher will perform at 7:30 p.m. Feb. 17 at the theater, 114 S. Monroe St. Tickets range from $15-39 and are available by calling 734-242-7722, stopping by the box office in downtown Monroe or visiting riverraisincentre.org. The show is sponsored by Monroe's Friendly Ford Lincoln.
"We are thrilled for our next show, Tyler Christopher's Elvis, a tribute to the King of Rock & Roll. It will be the perfect Valentine's weekend event," said Claire Bechard, RRCA associate director.
Christopher will recreate all eras of Elvis' career, performing hits such as "Hound Dog," "Shake Rattle & Roll," "Blue Suede Shoes," "Don’t Be Cruel," "Jailhouse Rock," "Suspicious Minds," "Burning Love," "Can't Help Falling in Love" and "Return to Sender."
"This is a very tasteful show replicating the legacy of Elvis in his prime, a dramaticallydifferent experience than your typical Elvis impersonator," the RRCA said in a news release.
Christopher has won and been a finalist in many national Elvis competitions. Among his honors are first place at the Lake George NY Elvis Festival, the largest competition of its kind in the Eastern U.S., and a top 5 ranking in the world this year in Elvis' hometown of Tupelo, Miss., the biggest Elvis festival in the world, the RRCA said.
