Tyler Hoechlin & Elizabeth Tulloch Say Superman & Lois Season 4’s Ending Will Leave Everyone Crying
The CW superhero drama series Superman & Lois is ending after the fourth and final season, which premieres on October 7, 2024. Less than a month before that, Tyler Hoechlin and Elizabeth Tulloch, who portray Clark Kent and Lois Lane, respectively, have claimed that the series finale will leave “everyone crying.”
Tyler Hoechlin and Elizabeth Tulloch tease a ‘very emotional’ Superman & Lois Season 4 finale and ending
Joining showrunners Todd Helbing and Brent Fletcher in a recent interview, Hoechlin and Tulloch previewed the fourth and final season.
Elizabeth Tulloch promised that the series finale would be “very emotional” and give the fans some “closure.” Speaking to Entertainment Weekly, she said, “[It’s] a very emotional episode. There will be closure, and everyone’s going to be crying in the final episode of the series. I did.”
Fletcher further speculated that the fans were in for a surprise with the ending of the series. “I don’t think people are going to think we’re ending the show the way that we are,” he said. “When it ends and the credits come up, they’re going to be surprised.”
Meanwhile, Tyler Hoechlin revealed that they had discussed multiple endings for Superman & Lois. However, he didn’t know what the actual ending would be for a long time. “I still didn’t know the actual ending until we got pretty close to it,” he explained.
“We had discussed potential endings throughout the various seasons, what we thought would be kind of cool, and even up until about halfway through the season, I was still wondering which direction they were going to go,” the actor said.
Now, with the full knowledge of how things turn out, Hoechlin observed, “I think they’ve [the writers] done a beautiful job of saying something poignant.” This is in line with what The CW’s President of Entertainment Brad Schwartz said after reading the finale script. He claimed “people are going to be blown away” when they watch it.
Superman & Lios Season 4 will take up the narrative exactly where Season 3 concluded — with Superman and Doomsday fighting in space. The season adapts the Death of Superman event from the comics.
