Uncle Samsik Episode 8 recap: Song Kang-Ho & Byun Yo-Han collaborate on their next plan
The latest episode of Uncle Samsik began with a flashback of a teenage Uncle Samsik meeting the younger Sineui Alliance founder, Cha Tae-Min. He continued to feed the little boy, who’d now grown up and struggled to place trust in Uncle Samsik. Meanwhile, as per Uncle Samsik and Kim San’s plan, the latter became the new face of democracy.
News about Kang Seong-Min punching Kim San before passing the Local Government Act became public. Their plan to make Kim San’s presence known and the beginning of Seong-Min’s downfall was successful. Uncle Samsik has now decided to use the Seodaemun faction’s leader, Han-Soo, to trap Park Jin-Wook. Then, he would use Jin-Wook to target General Choi Han-Rim. The following day, Kim San became the talk of the town, while Seong-Min remained anxious.
Kim San crossed paths with Rachel Jung, who invited him for dinner. Later, Uncle Samsik met an ailing Ahn Yo-Seop, who asked the former to guide his son, Ahn Ki-Cheol. Meanwhile, Kim San’s ex-fiancé, Yeo-Jin, joined as a reporter at Aemin Daily. She saw the image of Seong-Min punching Kim San. Meanwhile, Uncle Samsik prepared Han-Soo to meet with Park Jin-Wook. Han-Soo pretended to be Sanae Corporation CEO Kim Kwang-Min. He succeeded in convincing Jin-Wook to transfer their raw materials at the official exchange rate.
After this, Han-Soo offered Jin-Wook a bribe that Uncle Samsik’s aide caught on camera. While keeping the bribe in the trunk of Jin-Wook’s car, Han-Soo spotted the Sineui Alliance document signed by Seong-Min. Kim San and Uncle Samsik realized that Jin-Wook hadn’t burned the document and was planning to deceive Seong-Min. Meanwhile, Cha Tae-Min witnessed Uncle Samsik and Kim San’s collaboration.
During dinner with Rachel Jung, Kim San discussed business partners investing in the National Reconstruction Plan. She asked Kim San to meet with General Choi Han-Rim, who was in the same hotel. Meanwhile, Uncle Samsik met Seong-Min, only to realize Tae-Min had been keeping his eyes on them. On the other hand, Kim San met Han-Rim in the hopes of asking the general to be a business partner. However, Han-Rim confessed to planning a coup d’etat and asked Kim San to join them in this mission.
Then Han-Rim went on to reveal that after the presidential election, they would take the president hostage and declare martial law. In order to succeed, they would block all roads leading to the capital. Kim San relayed this update to Uncle Samik, who was looking for Tae-Min. Uncle Samsik asked Kim San to stay close to Han-Rim and eventually steal the general’s plan once he left the military. Uncle Samsik asked Kim San to utilize this opportunity, as he was Han-Rim’s weakness.
Amidst a fierce conversation between Jung Doo-Sik and Jung Han-Min at the Captial Defense Unit, Kim San reflected on Uncle Samsik’s advice. The episode ended with Uncle Samsik contemplating making a potentially wrong move.
