The United States of America Is Running Out of White Claw Hard Seltzer

Everyone's favorite hard seltzer appears to be in trouble. White Claw confirmed to CNN that due to the drink’s popularity, there is officially a nationwide shortage.

"We are working around the clock to increase supply given the rapid growth in consumer demand," Sanjiv Gajiwala, White Claw's senior vice president of marketing, told CNN Business. "White Claw has accelerated faster than anyone could have predicted."

As expected, some people are panicking over the news:

Hard seltzer has been around for years, but the demand recently reached an all-time high. This past July, White Claw sales were up 283% from the previous year. The canned beverage comes in a variety of flavors like mango, cherry, and grapefruit, and back in April the brand released a new innovation: pure hard seltzer. Each 12-ounce can has only 100 calories and two grams of sugar while still maintaining a 5% ABV. The low calories and low sugar content have become a huge draw for people.
