The Unknown: Neon Acquires Rights to Anatomy of a Fall Writer's Next Movie

Neon announced on Friday that it had acquired the North American distribution rights to The Unknown, the next movie from Anatomy of a Fall writer Arthur Harari.

The film is set to star Léa Seydoux, and will release sometime in 2026 in U.S. and Canadian theaters. Harari is also set to direct the feature, which will be his follow-up to 2021’s Onoda: 10,000 Nights in the Jungle. The Unknown will be produced by bathysphere, with Pathé co-producing.

Neon’s current slate of films for 2024 include Immaculate starring Sydney Sweeney, Alice Rohrwacher’s La Chimera, and Theda Hammel’s Stress Positions. Coming later this year, Neon will also handle distribution for the animated film Robot Dreams, Osgood Perkins’ Longlegs, and Cuckoo starring Hunter Schafer.

Seydoux and Harari look to build off of big years

Currently, no other information is known about the film. Harari is coming off of a big year in 2023, however, having co-writeen the hit drama Anatomy of a Fall, which won an Oscar, two Golden Globes, a BAFTA, and the Palme d’Or, the top prize at the Cannes Film Festival.

Seydoux also had a busy past few months, with her latest film, the sci-fi romantic drama The Beast, releasing internationally this past month. The star also appeared in Denis Villeneuve’s Dune: Part Two, where she played Margot Fenring, a member of the Bene Gesserit.
