‘Unstable’ Co-Creator John Owen Lowe Inks With UTA

EXCLUSIVE: UTA has signed actor and writer John Owen Lowe for representation in all areas, Deadline has learned.

Lowe recently co-created, wrote, starred in and executive produced the Netflix comedy series Unstable, alongside his father Rob Lowe and Victor Fresco. The series is loosely inspired by his relationship on social media with his dad. Season 2 of Unstable premiered on Aug. 1.

Lowe recently starred in and produced the thriller Grace Point for director Rory Karpf. The film marked his debut as a lead star in a feature film. Grace Point follows a young man faced with addiction who gets lost in the woods on his way to a remote drug rehab center and wrestles with the locals as well as his own personal demons. As a producer, Lowe helped shape the character based on his personal experiences. The movie premiered at the 2022 Santa Barbara Film Festival.

From 2020 until 2022, Lowe wrote for the television series 9-1-1: Lone Star.

Lowe studied science and technology at Stanford University, and upon graduating, began acting, having starred opposite his father in the legal comedy series The Grinder (2015-2016) for Fox , and in the Christmas romantic comedy Holiday in the Wild (2019) for Netflix.

Lowe continues to be repped by Viewpoint, Untitled Entertainment and Latham & Watkins.
