‘Until Dawn’ Movie At Screen Gems And PlayStation Studios Sets Ella Rubin, Michael Cimino, Ji-young Yoo And Odessa A’zion To Star
EXCLUSIVE: Screen Gems and PlayStation Productions’ feature adaptation of the PlayStation game Until Dawn has set an ensemble of rising stars as Ella Rubin, Michael Cimino, Ji-young Yoo and Odessa A’zion have been cast in the upcoming pic. David F. Sandberg is set to direct.

We’re excited to reveal more about the movie soon.”

The logline is under wraps but the pic is being described as an R-rated and terrifying love letter to the horror genre, centering on an ensemble cast.
Gary Dauberman wrote the latest version of the script. Blair Butler wrote the previous draft. Dauberman, who has a first-look deal with the studio, is producing under his Coin Operated banner with Mia Maniscalco, alongside M’ngata’s Sandberg and Lotta Losten, Vertigo Entertainment’s Roy Lee, and PlayStation Productions’ Qizilbash and Carter Swan. Michael Bitar is overseeing for the studio.
The hit horror video game follows eight friends who are trapped together on a remote mountain retreat and discover they’re not alone. Gripped by dread, with tensions running high, they must fight through their fear if they all hope to make it through the night in one piece.
Rubin can currently be seen starring opposite Anne Hathaway in Prime Video’s The Idea of You, which recently became a breakout hit for the streamer. She also stars in the upcoming feature film Adult Children opposite Thomas Sadoski, Betsy Brandt and Aya Cash, as well as the Palme d’Or-winning feature Anora and the Netflix feature film Fear Street: Prom Queens. She was also recently seen in the Apple TV+ miniseries Masters of the Air.
Cimino is best known for his role as Victor in Hulu’s Love, Victor. He is currently in production with a lead role in Prime Video’s drama Motorheads, and he will also soon be seen in the film Girl Haunts Boy. Cimino was recently seen recurring in Netflix’s hit series Never Have I Ever and the Netflix original comedy film Senior Year, in addition to New Line Cinema’s Annabelle Comes Home, for which he wrote and performed a song for the film’s soundtrack.
Yoo was recently nominated for a Gotham TV Award for Outstanding Performance in Limited Series for her work on Prime Video’s six-part limited series Expats from writer-director Lulu Wang. In 2023, Yoo starred in the coming-of-age drama Smoking Tigers. She will next be seen in the immersive film Freaky Tales alongside Pedro Pascal and Jay Ellis.
A’zion can currently be seen in Sitting In Bars With Cake alongside Bette Midler and Yara Shahidi, for which she received rave reviews. She is set to star alongside Rachel Sennott in her new HBO pilot to be directed by Lorene Scafaria. She recently completed filming She Rides Shotgun, starring opposite Taron Egerton.
Rubin is represented by Paradigm, Kipperman Management and Sloane Offer Weber Dern. Cimino is repped by CAA, Megan Silverman Management and attorney Chris Abramson. Yoo is repped by Gersh, Entertainment 360 and Del Shaw Moonves Tanaka Finkelstein. A’zion is represented by UTA, Luber Roklin, and Granderson Des Rochers.
